Self-Regulation of Learning in Higher Education: Systematic Review

The objective of this research is to survey the scientific literature on self-regulated learning (SLR) practices in higher education. To this end, a systematic literature review was conducted of articles published in the last decade. The Capes Journal was used as a database, following previously defined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Peer-reviewed articles were included; online resources; articles published in any language; published between 2013 and 2023; and articles addressing practical approaches to SLR in higher education. The method allowed for careful selection, evaluation, screening, and inclusion of the results, resulting in 13 articles. After screening, six articles were retrieved to comprise the discussion of this systematic review. This study demonstrated that SLR is addressed in various fields of knowledge and aims to support the teaching and learning process in undergraduate programs, thus providing an overview of the topic over the last ten years. This vision is still incipient in supporting the development of ARA in students during higher education, reinforcing the stimulus for research and interest in the practice, which can have a transformative effect on that educational level.
