Intestino e humor: Revisão Bibliográfica sobre Modulares Intestinais Associados aos Polifenóis no Tratamento da Depressão / Intestine and Mood: A Bibliographical Review about the Association of Intestinal Modulators and Polyphenols for the Treatment of Depression

Resumo

A depressão é uma condição multifatorial crescente na sociedade e geradora de prejuízos na vida dos indivíduos. Rita (nome fictício) em um episódio de crise depressiva apresentou melhora no humor utilizando uma combinação de antidepressivo com medicação intestinal. Diante disto, este trabalho visa compreender e demonstrar a relação eixo intestino-humor e sua atuação. Para tal, foi realizado um levantamento bibliográfico entre os anos de 2015 a 2020 na base de dados PubMed. Os critérios de inclusão foram: data, “depression”; polyphenols; inflammation; gut microbiota; e neuroinflammation”. Dentre os 238 artigos encontrados, somente 5 relacionavam a neutralização de EROS e modulação intestinal com polifenóis e probióticos. Há uma relação evidente entre intestino-humor, porém ainda não totalmente elucidada na ciência. Propoẽ-se aqui demonstrar o uso dos moduladores intestinais associados aos polifenóis como uma estratégia alternativa de tratamento coadjuvante no transtorno depressivo.
