Abstract

Female dyspareunia is a multifactorial condition involving physical, psychological, muscular, sexual, and relational components. This study aimed to analyze the influence of psychological factors and physical activity on female dyspareunia, as well as interdisciplinary care strategies used in the management of pain and sexual dysfunction. An integrative literature review was conducted using PubMed/MEDLINE, SciELO, LILACS, and Google Scholar, including studies published between 2016 and 2026. Primary studies addressing dyspareunia, psychological factors, physical activity, sexual function, or related therapeutic interventions were included. The findings showed associations between dyspareunia, anxiety, pain catastrophizing, and sexual distress. Physical therapy and psychological interventions showed favorable results, particularly regarding pain and sexual function. Physical activity showed potential benefits, although specific evidence remains limited. It was concluded that individualized interdisciplinary care is essential.
