Violence against women is a structural and psychosocial phenomenon associated with gender inequalities and power relations. This study aims to analyze, from a theoretical-conceptual perspective, the social and cultural mechanisms related to the naturalization and reproduction of different forms of violence against women and their interfaces with femicide. This is a qualitative theoretical-conceptual essay based on classical frameworks and contemporary scientific literature. The analysis articulated gender and patriarchy, male domination and symbolic violence, structural conditions and vulnerability, psychosocial repercussions, and femicide. The synthesis indicates that manifestations of violence do not constitute necessarily successive stages leading to femicide but may share asymmetric gender relations, control, and domination. It is concluded that understanding violence between the symbolic and the lethal requires integrating social, cultural, psychosocial, and institutional dimensions, thereby strengthening intersectoral strategies for prevention, protection of women, and confrontation of gender inequalities while avoiding deterministic interpretations of lethal violence.
