Abstract

This study describes the creation and content validation of the Self-Compassion Card Game, a non-exclusive therapeutic resource grounded in Kristin Neff's theory. Methodological, quantitative research organized in two phases: (1) evaluation of 60 items by seven expert judges, calculating the Content Validity Index (CVI) and Content Validity Ratio (CVR); and (2) a semantic validity pilot study with 164 participants from a mental health outpatient clinic in Vitória da Conquista, Bahia. The S-CVI was 0.95 and the mean CVR was 0.71, both above the adopted cutoffs. Thirteen items were revised, mainly concentrated in the Common Humanity versus Isolation axis. The instrument showed satisfactory content validity evidence as a non-diagnostic auxiliary tool.
