Abstract

Submental liposuction is an aesthetic technique with increasing demand, especially among patients seeking a more defined cervical contour. Ultrasound has been widely used in several areas of medicine as a diagnostic and postoperative monitoring tool. This scoping review aims to explore the use of ultrasonography as an assessment tool before and after submental liposuction. Studies on submental anatomy, surgical techniques, and imaging evaluation were included. It was observed that, although there is no extensive literature focused exclusively on ultrasonography applied to submental lipoplasty, existing data suggest its usefulness for controlling complications, assessing residual fat, and monitoring tissue healing.
