Comparison of the Effects of Pumpkin Seed Oil, Rosemary and Electrotherapy on Androgenetic Alopecia

Androgenetic alopecia is characterized by hair loss, mainly in the frontoparietal region, linked to several factors, with stress being a possible important cause, triggering a reduction in self-esteem. This study aimed to compare the hair effects of the use of pumpkin seed vegetable oil and a blend of rosemary essential oil associated with electrotherapy in androgenetic alopecia in young women affected by stress, aged between 18 and 28 years. The volunteers, divided into two groups for both oils, underwent 12 intervention sessions. The repercussions were evaluated at the beginning, during and at the end of the treatment by means of trichoscopy, photos of hair coverage and length, weekly weighing of the hair and changes in scalp oiliness. It was identified that the moderate correlations between the variables of the two groups analyzed did not obtain statistically significant differences, and there is a need for further scientific research to better explore the efficacy of the oils.
