Evidence Clinics and General Characteristics of Childhood Sexual Violence

The objective is to identify the evidence and general characteristics of sexual violence in childhood. This is an integrative review of the literature, carried out in December 2022, through the journal portal of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel, National Library of Medicine and Virtual Health Library. The sample corresponded to seventeen studies. Physical, psychological and behavioral evidence and characteristics were identified, such as female victims, age between 6 and 12 years old, white skin color, male aggressors, victim's father/stepfather, penetrative violence and the victim's residence or of the aggressor as the crime scene. The clinical evidence indicated reaches health services, but health professionals rarely associate the signs with sexual violence. Highlighting the importance of disseminating knowledge on the subject. It is expected that the findings will contribute to the early identification and establishment of strategies to prevent child sexual violence.
