Application of Emotional Intelligence by Managers in the Organizational Environment and Results

Abstract

Studying and understanding the area of people management is a key tool for the development of organizational strategies, since it is people who make each process occur. In this context, the present study aims to diagnose the importance of emotional intelligence in the organizational environment and its applicability in management. It is relevant, as it demonstrates the benefits of the applicability and the balance in the work environment, which the professional develops to build positive relationships during the enterprise, being intelligent when directing the work with the purpose of providing a continuous improvement in the relationships among the team members, the stakeholders, and the organization. The methodology used was a bibliographic review, in scholars of the area, surveys conducted through scientific articles, books, theses, dissertations, and websites. It was observed that the theme in question is explored by several authors, mainly by Daniel Goleman, considered the father of Emotional Intelligence, although he has not defined the concept academically, after the publication of his book Emotional Intelligence, in 1995, the concept became known worldwide. We conclude that EI plays a fundamental role in organizations, helping in conflict management and motivating team members, showing that the intelligent and appropriate use of emotions in the organizational context contributes to a better performance and the generation of positive results.
