Eficácia do Laser de Baixa Intensidade no Tratamento da Mucosite oral em Pacientes Oncológicos / Efficiency of Low-level Laser in Treatment of Oral Mucositis in Cancer Patients

Resumo

Resumo: A mucosite oral é definida como uma inflamação da cavidade oral que acomete pacientes submetidos à quimioterapia e/ou radioterapia. Dentre as modalidades terapêuticas empregadas no manejo da referida entidade clínica, o laser de baixa intensidade destaca-se pelo seu potencial de promover analgesia, reduzir a inflamação e esti­mular a regeneração tecidual. Nessa perspectiva, mostra-se válido caracterizar a eficácia e os benefícios clínicos da utilização deste método terapêutico em pacientes oncológicos acometidos pela mucosite oral. O presente trabalho utilizou-se das bases de dados: Pubmed; Cohrane Library, Lilacs e Scielo e para reunir publicações pertinentes e realizar uma revisão narrativa da literatura sobre a temática em questão. Constatou-se diminuição da morbimortalidade, gravidade da doença, intensidade dos sintomas e melhora na qualidade de vida na utilização do laser de baixa intensidade nos pacientes oncológicos acometidos por mucosite oral.
